At Ocean Memorial LA, our Live Ceremony & Ash Scattering at Sea provides families with a private and meaningful way to honor their loved one aboard our licensed vessel departing from Marina del Rey. This two-hour private charter accommodates up to 12 passengers and allows family and friends to gather together for a respectful memorial ceremony along the beautiful Los Angeles coastline. Surrounded by open water and peaceful ocean views, you may share personal tributes, readings, prayers, or music while our experienced captain guides the ceremony with care and professionalism. The ash scattering takes place offshore in full compliance with federal and California regulations, ensuring a dignified and worry-free process. This package includes: • Private vessel for up to 12 guests • Licensed captain and professional crew • EPA- and California-compliant burial at sea • Time for personal tributes and reflection • Scenic cruise and peaceful return to harbor • Certificate of committal with date and general location Our goal is to create a calm, compassionate, and unforgettable farewell that honors a life with dignity on the open sea.
Cancellation Policy
Ocean Memorial LA is fully insured and operates in accordance with applicable federal, California, and Los Angeles County laws and regulations. Customer Cancellations • More than 30 calendar days before the event: Full refund, less any non-refundable processing, dockage, or administrative fees. • 14–30 calendar days before the event: 50% refund. Non-refundable processing, dockage, and administrative fees are not refundable. • Within 14 calendar days: No refund. Because the vessel, Captain, crew, and dockage are reserved specifically for your event, bookings within this period are non-refundable. Customer-Requested Rescheduling • Customer-requested rescheduling is subject to a $200 rescheduling fee to cover non-refundable dockage and handling costs. • Rescheduling requests made within 14 calendar days of the scheduled event may also be subject to Captain and crew reservation fees: Captain: $75/hour Crew member: $25/hour • Customer-requested rescheduling is generally not available within 14 calendar days of the event and is subject to the Captain's discretion. Weather & Mechanical Issues The Captain has sole and final authority to determine whether conditions are safe for departure. If the trip cannot safely proceed due to heavy rain, fog, unsafe sea conditions, a Small Craft Advisory, or mechanical issues, the trip may be rescheduled at no additional rescheduling fee. Weather-related rescheduling will be based on official marine weather forecasts and the Captain's assessment of actual conditions. The safety of our passengers, crew, and vessel is always our highest priority.
