At Ocean Memorial LA, our Planning Ahead service gives you the opportunity to document your wishes for a future memorial at sea and give your family peace of mind. Plan a meaningful farewell aboard our licensed vessel departing from Marina del Rey. By choosing your preferences in advance and understanding today’s available pricing, you can help ease the planning and financial decisions your loved ones may face during a difficult time. Our two-hour private charter includes up to 15 guests, with the option to add up to five additional guests for an additional fee. Family and friends can gather along the Los Angeles coastline to share personal tributes, readings, prayers, or music. With advance planning, you can: • Plan your future memorial: Discuss arrangements and preferences for a private ocean ceremony. • Understand your memorial expenses: Explore available packages, current pricing, and optional additions. • Document your wishes: Outline your preferred ceremony, location, floral arrangements, music, and personal touches. • Prepare your family: Give your loved ones clear guidance so they can focus on remembering and honoring your life. The memorial package includes: • Private vessel for up to 15 guests • Licensed captain and professional crew • Time for personal tributes and reflection • Scenic cruise and peaceful return to harbor • Certificate of committal with date and general location Custom packages are available to reflect your wishes. Cancellation Policy
Ocean Memorial LA is fully insured and operates in accordance with applicable federal, California, and Los Angeles County laws and regulations. Customer Cancellations • More than 30 calendar days before the event: Full refund, less any non-refundable processing, dockage, or administrative fees. • 14–30 calendar days before the event: 50% refund. Non-refundable processing, dockage, and administrative fees are not refundable. • Within 14 calendar days: No refund. Because the vessel, Captain, crew, and dockage are reserved specifically for your event, bookings within this period are non-refundable. Customer-Requested Rescheduling • Customer-requested rescheduling is subject to a $200 rescheduling fee to cover non-refundable dockage and handling costs. • Rescheduling requests made within 14 calendar days of the scheduled event may also be subject to Captain and crew reservation fees: Captain: $75/hour Crew member: $25/hour • Customer-requested rescheduling is generally not available within 14 calendar days of the event and is subject to the Captain's discretion. Weather & Mechanical Issues The Captain has sole and final authority to determine whether conditions are safe for departure. If the trip cannot safely proceed due to heavy rain, fog, unsafe sea conditions, a Small Craft Advisory, or mechanical issues, the trip may be rescheduled at no additional rescheduling fee. Weather-related rescheduling will be based on official marine weather forecasts and the Captain's assessment of actual conditions. The safety of our passengers, crew, and vessel is always our highest priority.
